Coinbase Trading Journal Integration

Connect Coinbase to Tiltless with a read-only API key. Pull your spot fills, Advanced Trade history, and fee data into a single journal. No trading permissions, no guesswork about what was imported.

Read-Only API Connection

Tiltless connects to Coinbase using a read-only API key. We request the minimum permission scope: view-only access to your fills and orders. No trading, withdrawal, or account modification permissions are needed.

To connect: go to Coinbase Settings > API > Create New Key. Select only the 'View' permission. Paste the key and secret into Tiltless and your trades will start syncing immediately.

What Tiltless Tracks from Coinbase

Tiltless pulls the data that matters for post-trade review: fills, fees, and execution context.

  • Fill price, size, side (buy/sell), and timestamp for every executed order
  • Fees paid per fill — broken down by maker/taker where applicable
  • Order type (market, limit, stop) for execution quality analysis
  • Trading pair and quote currency for multi-asset tracking
  • DCA and recurring buy fills tracked as individual journal entries
  • Cost basis calculations across multiple entries in the same asset

CSV Import Alternative

If you prefer not to connect an API key, export your Coinbase transaction history as a CSV file and upload it to Tiltless directly. This is useful for importing historical trades that predate your API connection, or for traders who want a one-time import without ongoing sync.

Coinbase lets you export transaction reports from Settings > Reports. Select the date range, download the CSV, and upload it in Tiltless.

A Review Workflow for Coinbase Traders

Most Coinbase traders hold spot positions or DCA into a portfolio. The review workflow focuses on entry timing, cost basis, and whether your sizing matches your conviction.

  • Compare your average entry price against the asset's range over your holding period
  • Check fee drag: are taker fees eating into short-term positions?
  • Review DCA consistency — are you changing amounts based on price action?
  • Tag entries by thesis (macro, technical, conviction) and review win rate by tag

Security and Permissions

Tiltless stores API credentials encrypted at rest. Keys are scoped to read-only access and never leave Tiltless infrastructure. You can revoke your API key from Coinbase at any time — Tiltless will stop syncing and retain the data already imported.

We do not access wallet balances, personal identity information, or payment methods. The connection is limited to trade execution data.

FAQ

?How do I connect Coinbase to Tiltless?

Generate a read-only API key in Coinbase under Settings > API. Paste the key and secret into Tiltless. We only request view permissions — no trading, withdrawal, or transfer access.

?Does Tiltless support Coinbase Advanced Trade?

Yes. Tiltless imports fills from both Coinbase and Coinbase Advanced Trade (formerly Coinbase Pro). Limit orders, market orders, and stop orders are all tracked.

?Can I import Coinbase trades via CSV instead?

Yes. Export your transaction history from Coinbase as a CSV file and upload it to Tiltless. This works for any historical trades that predate your API connection.

?What data does Tiltless pull from Coinbase?

Trade fills (price, size, side, timestamp), fees paid per fill, order type, and trading pair. We do not access wallet balances, personal information, or withdrawal history.

?Does Coinbase have perpetual futures or funding rates?

Coinbase supports spot and Advanced Trading (limit/market orders with a full order book). It does not offer perpetual futures, so funding rate tracking does not apply to Coinbase trades.

?Is the API connection read-only?

Yes. Tiltless requires only the 'view' permission scope. We cannot place orders, move funds, or modify your Coinbase account in any way.

?How often are Coinbase trades synced?

Trades sync automatically after the initial connection. New fills are typically pulled within minutes of execution.

?Can I track DCA purchases from Coinbase?

Yes. Recurring buys and DCA orders from Coinbase appear as individual fills in your journal. Tiltless tracks average entry price and total cost basis across all entries.
