How to Export Deribit Trade History

Export your Deribit BTC and ETH perpetuals, futures, and options trade history as CSV files. Step-by-step instructions for the transaction log export, plus what to do with the data once you have it.

Export from the Transaction Log

Deribit uses a unified transaction log for all instrument types. Perpetuals, futures, and options trades all appear in the same view, filtered by currency.

  • Log in to Deribit on a desktop browser
  • Go to Account > Transaction Log
  • Select the currency tab: BTC or ETH
  • Set the date range for the period you want to export
  • Filter by 'Trade' transaction type to isolate fill data
  • Click the export or download button to generate the CSV
  • Repeat for the other currency if you trade both BTC and ETH instruments

Perpetual and Futures Trades

Deribit perpetuals (BTC-PERPETUAL, ETH-PERPETUAL) and dated futures are the core derivative products. Both appear in the transaction log alongside options.

  • Perpetuals are identified by instrument names like BTC-PERPETUAL or ETH-PERPETUAL
  • Dated futures include the expiry in the name: e.g., BTC-28MAR26
  • Both perpetual and futures fills show price, amount, side, fee, and order ID
  • Funding rate payments on perpetuals may appear as separate transaction types — not as trades
  • For complete funding rate data, API sync captures these automatically

Options Trades

Deribit is one of the largest crypto options venues. Options trades are exported from the same transaction log as perpetuals and futures.

  • Options instruments follow the format: BTC-28MAR26-100000-C (underlying-expiry-strike-type)
  • C = call, P = put
  • The CSV includes the premium paid or received, size, and fee
  • Exercise and assignment events may appear as separate transaction types
  • Options and perpetual trades are in the same export — no separate download needed

Inverse Settlement (BTC/ETH Denominated)

Deribit is an inverse exchange. All margin, fees, and PnL are settled in the underlying cryptocurrency — BTC or ETH — not in USD or stablecoins. This is a key difference from USDT-margined exchanges.

  • All amounts in the CSV are denominated in BTC or ETH
  • A profitable BTC-PERPETUAL trade pays out in BTC, not USD
  • Fees are charged in the settlement currency (BTC or ETH)
  • Tiltless handles inverse settlement automatically and converts to USD-equivalent for portfolio-level review
  • Be aware of this when comparing PnL across Deribit and USDT-margined venues

What the CSV Contains

Deribit's transaction log CSV includes execution data for every fill across all instrument types.

  • Timestamp of execution (UTC)
  • Instrument name (identifies the product, expiry, strike, and type)
  • Side: buy or sell
  • Price and amount (quantity)
  • Fee in the settlement currency (BTC or ETH)
  • Trade ID and order ID
  • Transaction type (trade, settlement, delivery, funding, etc.)

CSV Export Limitations

CSV export works but has real limitations compared to API sync. Be aware of these before relying on CSV as your primary import method.

  • BTC and ETH instruments are exported separately — you need one export per currency
  • Funding rate payments may require filtering by a different transaction type
  • Settlement and delivery events are mixed into the same log — filter carefully
  • No automatic sync — you must re-export and re-upload to capture new trades
  • Export is only available on the desktop web interface
  • Large options portfolios with many strikes and expiries can produce very large CSV files

Consider API Sync Instead

If you trade actively on Deribit, API sync is faster and more complete than CSV export. A read-only API key pulls trades automatically — including funding payments, settlement events, and all instrument types — without manual exports.

Deribit's API key system supports fine-grained permissions. You only need read access to account and trade data — no trading, withdrawal, or account modification permissions.

CSV export is best for one-time historical backfill. For ongoing journaling, API sync removes the friction of repeated manual exports.

FAQ

?Where do I export trade history on Deribit?

Go to Account > Transaction Log on the Deribit website. Select the currency (BTC or ETH), set the date range, filter by 'Trade' type, and click the export/download button to generate a CSV.

?What date range can I export?

Deribit allows flexible date range selection in the transaction log. You can export up to several months of history per file. For very long histories, you may need to split into multiple exports.

?What format does the CSV use?

Deribit exports a CSV with columns for timestamp, instrument name, side, price, amount, fee, order ID, and trade ID. Options trades include strike price and expiry in the instrument name.

?Does the export include both BTC and ETH trades?

Deribit's transaction log is filtered by currency. You export BTC-denominated instruments and ETH-denominated instruments separately. Select the currency tab before exporting to get the correct set of trades.

?Is there a faster way than CSV export?

Yes — connect a read-only API key instead. API sync pulls trades automatically and does not require manual exports. Deribit API keys support granular read-only permissions with no trading or withdrawal access.

?Does the CSV include options trades?

Yes. Options trades appear in the same transaction log as perpetual and futures trades. Options instruments are identified by their name format: e.g., BTC-28MAR26-100000-C for a BTC call option with a 100,000 strike expiring March 28, 2026.

?Does the CSV include settlement and delivery data?

Settlement and delivery events appear in the transaction log but may be categorized differently from regular trades. Filter by the appropriate transaction type to see deliveries, settlements, and expirations alongside your trade fills.

?Are all amounts denominated in BTC or ETH?

Yes. Deribit is an inverse exchange — all settlements are in the underlying cryptocurrency (BTC or ETH), not in USD or stablecoins. Your CSV will show fees and PnL in BTC or ETH. Tiltless handles the conversion for portfolio-level review.

?Can I export from the Deribit mobile app?

CSV export is typically only available on the Deribit website (desktop browser). Use a desktop browser for the full export functionality.
