OKX Trading Journal Integration

Connect OKX to Tiltless with a read-only API key. Pull spot, perpetual swaps, expiry futures, and options fills into one journal. Track funding rates, multi-currency margin, and fees without granting trading permissions.

Read-Only API Connection

Tiltless connects to OKX using a read-only API key with the 'Read' permission only. No trading, withdrawal, or transfer permissions are required. OKX also requires a passphrase when creating an API key — Tiltless stores this encrypted alongside your key and secret.

To connect: go to OKX > Account > API > Create API Key. Under permissions, select only 'Read.' Set a passphrase and optionally bind the key to your IP address. Paste the key, secret, and passphrase into Tiltless.

What Tiltless Tracks from OKX

Tiltless pulls execution data across all OKX product types for post-trade review.

  • Spot fills: price, quantity, side, timestamp, and trading pair
  • Perpetual Swap fills: price, quantity, leverage, funding payments, and realized PnL
  • Expiry Futures fills: contract details, settlement price, and delivery data
  • Options fills: strike, expiry, call/put type, premium, and underlying price
  • Multi-currency margin: collateral assets backing each position
  • Fees per fill with maker/taker breakdown and fee tier detection

Unified Account Support

OKX's Unified Account mode consolidates spot, derivatives, and options under a single margin structure with cross-collateral support. Tiltless imports all product types from Unified Account into one journal while preserving product-level detail.

If you use Classic Account mode with separate wallets, Tiltless handles that too — both structures map to the same journal schema.

Funding Rates and Multi-Currency Margin

Funding payments on OKX perpetual swaps are settled every eight hours. Tiltless tracks every funding settlement — paid and received — so you can see the true cost of holding positions beyond the spread.

OKX also supports multi-currency margin, letting you use BTC, ETH, or stablecoins as collateral for derivatives. Tiltless tracks which assets back each position and calculates PnL accounting for collateral value changes.

CSV Import

Export your OKX trade history as a CSV from Orders > Trade History and upload it to Tiltless. This covers spot, perpetual swaps, futures, and options orders.

CSV import is available now — even while API sync is in development. Use it to start journaling your OKX trades immediately and backfill historical data.

A Review Workflow for OKX Traders

OKX traders often trade across perpetual swaps, spot, and options — sometimes with multi-currency margin adding complexity. The review workflow should separate product types first, then surface patterns that cut across them.

  • Split reviews by product: perp swaps, expiry futures, spot, and options each have different cost and settlement models
  • Track funding drag on perps separately from realized PnL — holding costs compound quietly
  • Review collateral efficiency: is multi-currency margin helping or adding liquidation risk from correlated assets?
  • Compare fill quality across order types — OKX's tiered fee structure rewards maker volume
  • Tag trades by thesis and review performance per tag to identify your strongest setups

Security and Permissions

API credentials — including the OKX passphrase — are encrypted at rest and never leave Tiltless infrastructure. The key only requires read access, the most restrictive permission level OKX offers.

For additional security, bind the API key to your IP address in OKX's API settings. You can revoke the key from OKX at any time. Tiltless will stop syncing and retain the data already imported.

FAQ

?How do I connect OKX to Tiltless?

Create a read-only API key in OKX under Account > API. Select only the 'Read' permission — do not enable trading, withdrawal, or transfer scopes. Enter a passphrase, then paste the key, secret, and passphrase into Tiltless.

?Which OKX products does Tiltless support?

Tiltless imports trades from OKX Spot, Perpetual Swaps, Expiry Futures, and Options. Unified Account and Classic Account modes are both supported.

?Does Tiltless track OKX funding rates?

Yes. For perpetual swap positions, Tiltless pulls every funding settlement — both payments and receipts. Your journal shows cumulative funding cost per trade and portfolio-wide funding drag.
